DIFFA Commemorates World AIDS Day

DIFFA

Today on World AIDS Day, DIFFA unites with people across the globe to demonstrate support for those impacted by HIV/AIDS and to remember the millions who lost their lives to the disease.

There are an estimated 1.2 million people living with HIV in the United States and nearly 13,000 people in the United States die of AIDS related causes each year. Over the last 30 years, DIFFA has shared in the triumphs and setbacks in the fight against HIV/AIDS.  We thank you for supporting our efforts. No matter what lies ahead, we are committed to  raising and granting funds toward creating an AIDS-free generation.

Last month, DIFFA National provided $333,000 in grants to 26 organizations providing direct care, prevention, education services and advocacy for those living with HIV/AIDS. The populations served include those disproportionately affected including the LGBTQ community, youth, homeless individuals, women, older individuals, the incarcerated, communities of color and immigrants.

DIFFA is proud to help these organizations and dozens more supported by our chapters and partners.  In the last year, we have collectively distributed almost one million dollars in grants – and our support has a direct impact on those who need it most.

Join us in commemorating World AIDS Day and share why you’re involved in this fight via the #WorldsAIDSDay hashtag on social media. Make sure to tag us @DIFFAnational!
